Buftterflies are set free!

Mrs. Craft's class set their butterflies free this week. She took pictures, so I'm sure she will have them on her blog. I know the kids enjoyed learning about the life cycle of butterflies.

We have been working on our ACSIP (Arkansas Comprehensive School Improvement Plan) this week. The elementary will begin to upgrade their computers this coming school year. We hope to have two computers in each classroom where students can take AR tests. We are also checking to see if Mrs. Wendy's lab can be used for AR tests. Technology standards (what each child should learn about technology and what grade they should learn it in) will be implemented to teach reading and science next year!

We also plan to purchase additional AR books for the library as well as non-fiction books to use with our science units.

Mrs. Tina has the clock stopped at 3:30 in Paradise Island! We are also soothed by tropical music every day. This morning, Jimmy Buffet songs are playing. Posted by Hello

Mrs. Tina has transformed our lounge into "Paradise Island" for Teacher's Appreciation Week". I have had many people tell me that the best thing I have ever done as elementary principal is to "hire Tina." I have to agree! Posted by Hello

Blogs Begin to Appear!

Last week I shared Mrs. Craft's blog address with you. This morning, I've been introduced to two more classroom blogs. I'll work on setting these up as links from my blog or have Mrs. Pam do this at the Cardinals homepage.

I learned a lot at the Federal Coordinator's meeting in Little Rock last week. Those of you that saw the Arkansas Democrat on Friday saw that I indeed had my picture taken with Ray Simon. Let's just say that the photographer snapped the picture as Mr. Simon and I were enjoying a BIG laugh.
